Amanda Simmons – stylist
Working at Jade is more than a job for Amanda. She has been with Jade since its opening in 2006 making her the “last man standing”. She loves the daily opportunity to help people transform their style and the way they feel about themselves. Amanda graduated top of her class from the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill, and considers dimensional color/highlighting and cutting to be two of the things she does best. She has a strong eye for details and is very skilled at precision haircutting. Amanda loves the beach and enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her husband, family and dogs.

Brittney O’Brien – stylist
Brittney loves to have fun at Jade! Whether it’s coming up with a new style or entertaining her teammates, Brittney is always up for anything out of the ordinary. Staying up to date with the latest trends in hair is what keeps her excited to try new things. Brittney loves the daily surprises and excitement of working in a creative atmosphere that encourages change. Both her teammates and her guests look to Brittney for positivity and strong cutting skills. Always a good listener, Brittney is eager to help guests create new looks that fit into their lifestyles and showcase their best features.

Marlee BUCKBERRY – stylist
Marlee, a member of the Jade team since 2009, loves coming to work because of her team mates and the atmosphere here at Jade. She chose to become a stylist in 2008 because she enjoys meeting new people and values the opportunity to be creative with her work. Marlee considers working with highly textured hair to be her specialty and is always interested in learning new cutting techniques. She is inspired by the beauty she finds in nature and spends her time outside of work with her family, friends and animals.

Kristen Salyards – stylist
Kristen has three years experience as a stylist. She enjoys working at Jade because of the friendly and creative work environment. She loves being part of a team that strives to excel collectively. She is inspired by the accomplished stylists around her and taking advantage of continuing education opportunities from Aveda. She enjoys listening to music, painting, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Kari Dubbs – stylisT
Kari has been a member of the Jade family since July 2010. Kari attended cosmetology school in her home state of Montana. She loves the atmosphere and team here at Jade. Kari loves to make people feel pretty, confident and happy with themselves. She has a talent for working with all hair textures and leaves her guests with an amazing finished look. Kari likes music, art, museums and in her free time loves to be outdoors and traveling.

Annie Milks – stylist
Annie also came to Jade from the Fila Academy. She was drawn to hairstyling after she completed her traditional college education because it is always changing and she loves making people look and feel better. She is one of the newest Jade stylists and is eagerly learning new things daily to help enhance the strong education she received. Annie loves color and away from Jade she enjoys wedding/planning, traveling and trying out new classes at the gym.

Landis Huffman
Landis has been working with Jade Aveda since December 2010. She draws her inspiration from helping transform clients to help them reach their full potential. Graduating from a local cosmetology school, Landis was a guest with Jade Aveda before becoming a stylist. Landis is inspired to give her guests the same positive experience at Jade Aveda that she received. She knew she wanted to work here the moment she set foot in the door! When she is not helping transform her guests, Landis enjoys spending time with her family and fiancé. She also loves music, playing several instruments including piano and cello, and enjoys going to concerts.

Danielle Hoffman
Danielle is new to the Jade team and is a graduate of the Aveda Institute of Charlotte. She also graduated from UNCG in 2005 with a degree in Film and Video Production. She loves being able to use her creativity in the challenging art of hair design and especially loves learning new techniques in both color and cut. She enjoys photography, watching movies, and playing ultimate frisbee.

Stewart Smith – esthetician
Spend five minutes talking to Stewart about skincare or experience a customized facial with her and you will understand why she is so passionate about Aveda. Stewart views each interaction with her guests as an opportunity to educate them about skincare and overall wellness. Her easy going nature helps calm guests and make them feel comfortable (even during bikini waxes!). Stewart enjoys taking any classes on the latest skincare techniques and products as well as traveling, music and interactive video games.

Rhonda Pedersen – Co-Owner / Manager
Rhonda and her husband Mark, founded Jade Aveda in 2006. Rhonda’s previous experience is in the banking and real estate industries, and she brought her talents for business and love of people with her to Jade. She works very hard to maintain our team oriented culture and happy environment here at Jade, making it fun and rewarding to be part of the team, and a pleasure to be a guest in our salon. She is passionate about her work, but outside of the Salon, Rhonda enjoys being with her family and traveling whenever she can find the opportunity.
